About us

Founder

Ola Nilsson attended the Red Cross / Red Crescent United World College in Fjaler, Norway in 1995-97. Living together 200 students from 70 countries at the foot of the mountain and shores of the fjord, really shaped his world view and inspired his social involvement. After Norway, he returned to his hometown of Helsingborg and started working at the local Immigration/Integration Bureau, going out in schools to talk about racism, xenophobia, antirasism, tolerance and understanding. He left for Minnesota, USA, where he completed his B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies at Macalester College. He got involved in the Dismantling Racism Group, which brought him to national trainings in Mississippi with the People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond, and organizing trainings in Minnesota. He moved to Stockholm a year after graduation, where he started working for civil society organizations such as PeaceQuest/Sweden, the Foundation of Women’s Forum, Swedish Red Cross Youth and the National Council of Swedish Youth Organizations. He also initiated a three year project - Forge - aimed at empowering young people to become social entrepreneurs. He has vast experience in large group facilitation, leadership and organizational development. He now lives in Brussels, where he freelances and is involved in various projects, including Rättviseförmedlingen in Sweden and of course, TO OSLO, WITH LOVE.
